Indian Army tour for Kishtwar Students
A nine day tour for College Students of Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir conducted by the Indian Army was flagged off at Dharmund by Major General Rajiv Nanda, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) on September 4, 2018. The tour team comprising of 20 students from three different Degree Colleges from Kishtwar, Marwah and Chhatru was accompanied by two teachers and officials of the Indian Army. Before the tour was flagged off, the General Officer along with other dignitaries of the Indian Army interacted with the team and wished them bon voyage.
During the course of the tour to Chennai, the students and teachers stopped over at New Delhi and interacted with the Chief of Army Staff and also visited the historic Red Fort. In Chennai, they visited the Loyola Institute of Business Administration and also witnessed the Passing Out Parade of Officers Training Academy, which was the focal point of the entire tour.
The tour intends to provide the students with an exposure to the military way of life, to encourage them to imbibe best of the Military virtues such as discipline, punctuality, integrity and patriotism in their personal lives. Also, it was motivated the students towards career opportunities available both in the corporate sector as well as the Indian Army, thus widening their horizons.
The high zeal and enthusiasm levels of the students was clearly visible as they were waving the National Flag and singings patriotic songs while being flagged off.
