EME Celebrates 76th Corps Day at Secunderabad
The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army commemorated the 76th year of its raising at 1EME Centre, Secunderabad on October 15, 2018.
On this solemn occasion, a wreath laying ceremony was conducted at the War Memorial of 1EME Centre in remembrance of the brave martyrs of the Corps of EME. Wreaths were laid by Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant of Military College of EME and Colonel Commandant of Corps of EME, Brigadier Sandeep Bhalla, Commandant of 1EME Centre, veteran officers and other ranks. Eight Veer Naris were also honoured by felicitating them on this occasion.
The event was followed by a Ceremonial parade commanded by Brigadier Sandeep Bhalla at Centre parade ground. Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion and reviewed the parade. Eight contingents consisting of 12 officers, 25 Junior Commissioned Officers, and 404 Other Ranks participated in the smartly turned parade. The contingents marched with full fervour displaying the high morale of the Corps to the tunes played by the military band amongst a spectatorship of 2300 veterans, Veer Naris and all serving ranks of EME in the station.
The Corps has been delivering unflinching support to the Indian Army by means of maintenance, innovation and latest technology in peace and war. The Corps of EME has always been carrying the lead baton in the field of technology and adventure sports. Over the years, soldier craftsmen have earned laurels and proved their mettle in all major fields of the Army.
