Cycling Expedition "Rann 500" by the Golden Katar Division & AFMC, Pune
A cycling expedition "Rann 500"   was undertaken by the Golden Katar Division and Cadets of AFMC, Pune in Kutch region (Ahmedabad to Lakhpat) recently to create awareness and motivate youth of Gujarat to come forward and join the Armed Forces.
27 Cadets (including six Lady Cadets and four instructors of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune accompanied by 10 Cyclists of Golden Katar Cycling Club participated in the event. High spirit of Adventure and camaraderie were displayed by the Officers and Cadets which instilled great pride for Indian Army and patriotism in the minds of the youth.
The expedition was flagged off at Ahmedabad by Maj Gen Anil Puri General Officer Commanding, Golden Katar Division, who also led the expedition till Lakhpat, accompanied by Col Sonya Puri, Chairperson, Golden Katar Family Welfare Organisation. The expedition was flagged in at Lakhpat after covering a distance of approx 500 km.
