Boxing Bronze Medalist felicitated at 1EME Centre
The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME) has added one more feather to its cap with Naib Subedar Mohammed Hussamuddin of 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad winning the Bronze Medal in boxing in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia in the 56 Kg Weight Category.
A felicitation ceremony was organized in 1 EME Centre on April 20, 2018 to honour and recognise the achievements of the Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) for his outstanding achievement which has brought laurels to the Nation and the Indian Army. The ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME with Brigadier Sandeep Bhalla, Commandant, 1 EME Centre also in attendance.
The Corps of EME has always been in the forefront of sports and adventure activities and produced outstanding sports persons like the Flying Sikh Milkha Singh, who set ablaze the athletic arena in India and abroad in 400m races during 1950s and 1960s, Brigadier RK Manchanda, the seven time National Squash Champion, Major HPS Ahluwalia the first Defence person to scale Mount Everest, Colonel JK Bajaj, the first Asian to reach south pole.
