Army Conducts 'Naoshera Day’
Naoshera Day celebrations were organised at Jadunath War Memorial and Butalia Auditorium on February 6, 2018. Naoshera Day is celebrated to commemorate the victory in 1947-48 Indo-Pak war in Naoshera sector and in remembrance of the martyrdom of Naik Jadunath Singh, PVC who committed supreme sacrifice in service of the nation on February 6, 1948 during 1947-48 Indo-Pak war.
A wreath laying ceremony was held at Jadunath memorial followed by a cultural programms at Butalia Auditorium, which was attended by GOC, Ace of Spades Division, large number of Veer Naris, Widows, Veterans and Bal Sainiks. The cultural event included a light and sound show highlighting Victory of Indian Army in Naoshera Sector, Dance performance and other events by local Colleges and Schools.
The GOC addressed the audience highlighting the initiatives by Army and the wholehearted support from the citizens which will go a long way in strengthening the existing bonds between Army & locals in the region. He expressed his gratitude towards the residents of Naoshera in making the Naoshera Day a grand success commemorating the sacrifices made during the war.
