Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh Bawa Bhalla, took over as Eighth Commandant of Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) on April 27, 2018 from Brigadier V K Bahree. Brigadier SSB Bhalla was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery in 269 FD Regt on December 16, 1989. After serving for four years in Artillery, he earned his wings in 1994. The officer has commanded two Reconnaissance and Observation Flights and also has had the distinction of Commanding 667 Army Aviation Squadron (R&O) & 660 Army Aviation Squadron (R&O). The officer has served in various appointments, both instructional as well as staff. He has a rich flying experience of over 5000 hours and had an instructional tenure at Air Force Academy, Dundigal. He has also served as United Nations Military Observer at Ethiopia. His staff experience includes appointments of Col GS (Aviation) HQ Southern Command and Director, Flight Safety in Directorate General of Army Aviation, prior to assuming the Command of Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) - The 'Alma Mater' of Army Aviators. He has been a part of several major Operations like OP MEGHDOOT,OP ORCHID, OP RAKSHAK, OP VIJAY and OP PARAKARAM. He has been awarded the COAS Commendation Card for his distinguished service.
Air Commodore SR Menon assumed the command of Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) on May 19, 2018 from Air Commodore VPS Rana. The Handing / Taking over of command was carried out during a solemn ceremony held at AFAC on May 19, 2018. Before assuming the command of Air Force Administrative College, the officer served at Headquarters South Western Air Command, Indian Air Force.
Air Commodore SR Menon was commissioned in the Administrative branch of Indian Air Force in December 1986. He is an alumnus of Gujarat University and a Post Graduate in Management Studies from Osmania University. The officer has undergone Combined Strategic Intelligence Training Program at Defence Intelligence Agency – United State of America, Higher Defence Orientation Course at Army War College, Mhow and Higher Defence Management Course at College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. The officer was commended by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and the Chief of the Air Staff for his professional competence and devotion to duty.
Group Captain Prajual Singh assumed the command of Air Force Station Thanjavur, a premier base under Southern Air Command, on May 21, 2018 from Group Captain Vikram Jeet Singh after an impressive Ceremonial Parade befitting the occasion.
Group Captain Prajual Singh an alumni of National Defence Academy, commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1992. The officer, a Qualified Flying Instructor has varied operational, administrative and training appointments that includes commanding prestigious Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and posting as Military and Air Attache at Embassy of India, Tehran, Iran. The Officer was awarded Vayu Sena Medal in 2012 for devotion to duty.
