Defence Pension Adalat aimed at solving problems of Vetarans as also for rejuvenating the ties between serving and the retired soldiers was organised at District Mandi (H.P) on May 17-18, 2018 by the Rising Star Corps and Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension) Allahabad. Lt Gen YVK Mohan, General Officer Commanding of the Rising Star Corps, Mr Upendra Sah, Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts from New Delhi and Mr Parveen Kumar, PCDA (P) Allahabad, besides heads of various other agencies and large number of Ex-servicemen were present on the occasion.
In the Pension Adalat 270 cases out of 399 registrations were settled on the spot while others will be resolved after verification of documents. Speaking on the occasion, the GOC, Rising Star Corps emphasized on the necessity of conducting such events regularly and highlighted that the event will provide a composite platform to the ex-servicemen and their families to redress their wide ranging issues related to pensions and other welfare benefits.
Representatives of PCDA (Pension) Allahabad, CDA (O) Pune, CDA (AF) Delhi, CDA (Navy) Mumbai, prominent nationalized banks, Zila Sainik Board, Record Offices attended to the grievances. The Adalat received an overwhelming response and approximately 900 pensioners participated over two days. A number of Veer Naris, Gallantry Awardees and needy Veterans were felicitated during the event. A large number of veterans were benefited as their pension related issues were resolved at their own hometown.
