Air Marshal RK Dhir, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief South Western Air Command (SWAC) visited Air Force Station Lohegaon on July 10, 2018 on annual inspection. He was accompanied by Mrs Neelam Dhir, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) (Regional), SWAC. They were received by Air Commodore KV Surendran Nair, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Lohegaon and Mrs Priyadarshini Nair, President AFWWA (Local).
On arrival, the Air Marshal reviewed the customary ceremonial parade. In his address he appreciated the vital role played by the station personnel in guarding the western skies of the nation and also highlighted the future challenges. He complimented the air warriors for the innovations carried out at the base with the renewed 'Make in India' thrust and the strides taken by them towards 'Swacch Bharat' abhiyaan.
The AOC-in-C inspected various operational installations of the station including fighter and missile squadrons, maintenance facilities, radar units, etc. and took stock of their battle readiness. He also visited the site of 16 acres IAF land handed over to the Airports Authority of India for expansion of Pune International Airport.
