Twenty Probationer Nurses of 42nd batch of General Nursing & Midwifery course of College of Nursing, Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore were commissioned in to the Military Nursing Service after successful completion of 3½ years of professional training in Bengaluru June 11, 2018. The Chief Guest of the function was Air Vice Marshal R K Ranyal, Commandant, Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore.
The students of Batch No 42, enrolled for training in Sep 2014, appeared for All India final year exam conducted by Armed Forces Medical Services Examining Board in Feb 2018 and were declared successful. Lieutenant Anjali stood second in All India order of merit and 1st in her batch. She was awarded the Commandant's gold medal and Air Force station Jallahali rolling trophy. She also received Air Force Rolling trophy for all rounder and best outgoing student.
Lieutenant Shipra Rai secured third position in All India merit and was second in her batch. She received the Commandant's Silver Medal. Mrs Sushila Jain Memorial Silver Medal for the Best Bed Side Nurse was awarded to Lieutenant Varsha Rose for being exceptionally competent in clinical area.
The Chief Guest while addressing the newly commissioned Nursing Officers emphasized that care , commitment and compassion are the core values of Nursing profession. One needs to exhibit professional competence with utmost dedication to practice this noble profession. He motivated newly commissioned officers to keep abreast with technological advancements and to practice their profession with devotion.
Brigadier Amita Rani, Principal Matron , Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore welcomed the gathering and Lieutenant Colonel R Basil, Principal , College of Nursing Command Hospital ( AF) Bangalore administered the Nurse's Oath. These young lieutenants have been posted to various service hospitals all over the country.
