Vajra Air Defence Brigade under the aegis of Vajra Corps of Indian Army organised a Veer Nari meet at Ludhiana to felicitate the Veer Naris.
Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, Corps Commander was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by Mrs Usha Singh Zonal President, Vajra Army Wives Welfare Association. The aim of the event was to remain in contact with the kith and kin of the heroes of Indian Army who laid down their lives in highest traditions of Indian Army. Brig Manish Arora, Station Commander Ludhiana Military Station addressed the gathering and highlighted various facilities that were provided at the meet. Mr RN Dhoke, Commissioner of Police and Mr Pradeep Kumar Agarwal, District Collector were also present on the occasion.
Representatives from various agencies of Army and Civil administration were present to resolve the problems of the Veer Naris at a common place. Medical Camp, Pension related issues, placement cell and info on various other schemes run by Indian Army and Government was provided to the attendees.
The Veer Naris and widows were felicitated by the Corps Commander. Medical aid in terms of equipment such as wheel chairs, hearing aid, lumbar belts etc were also distributed.
The event witnessed a large gathering of persons including Veer Naris, widows and their dependents. The occasion was also graced by number of dignitaries from the Corporate Sector, who came out in full support of this event. Students from Government College for Girls, Ludhiana and KVM school performed in honour of these Veer Naris and kept everyone entertained.
