Kargil War Heroes remembered on Viyay Diwas
The country celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas every year on 26 July to honour the Kargil War Heroes. A Wreath Laying Ceremony was conducted by Headquarters, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) at Veerula Sainik Smarak, Secunderabad to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Kargil conflict. Brigadier MD Upadhyay, Station Commander & Deputy General Officer Commanding (Dy GOC) and Commandants of AOC Centre, Arty Centre, Military Hospital, Secunderabad, representative of 1 EME centre on behalf of Commandant were amongst the senior Military dignitaries in the military station who laid wreaths at Veerula Sainik Smarak and paid tributes to War heroes for their supreme sacrifice to safeguard the security of the nation.
The occasion was celebrated to recognise the country's victory in the Kargil conflict. The Indian Army evicted Pakistani intruders and recaptured, among other important posts, Tiger Hill, as part of Operation Vijay.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated
Vijaya College, Jayanagar and Sheshadripuram First Grade College, Yelahanka celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas by paying homage to the Martyrs of Kargil War Heroes and organised tree plantation in Bengaluru.
Chief Guest of the event, Lieutenant Colonel CS Jayaram, Commanding Officer of 7 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Bengaluru while addressing the NCC Cadets from various colleges of Bengaluru, students and the teaching staff of both Vijaya College and Sheshadripuram College expressed his gratitude for organising the event to commemorate the sacrifices made by the soldiers in the Kargil War. The event was culminated by planting hundreds of saplings by the students and NCC Cadets in the premises of Vijaya College, Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

Wreath laying ceremony on Kargil Vijay Diwas
A wreath laying ceremony on Kargil Vijay Diwas was organized to pay homage to Late Capt K Clifford Nongrum, Mahavir Chakra (Posthumously) at St Anthony's College under the aegis of NCC Shillong Group. Capt Nongrum was alumni of St Anthony's College and ex NCC cadet of 41 Meghalaya Artillery Battery, NCC.
The function was attended by Maj Gen Raju Chauhan, ADG, NE Region NCC Directorate as Chief Guest and many other Civil and Military dignitaries. During his address to cadets and students of St Anthony's College, the General emphasized that the real tribute to our Martyrs will be achieved, if we, at all levels, put in a place a robust, sensitive and responsive system which will support adopt and remember our fallen heroes and their families. He further added there is no bigger sacrifice known to man, than to lay down one's life in the defence of the nation. He conveyed his thanks to Brother Albert L Dkhar, the Principal of St Anthony's College and complimented 41 Meghalaya Arty Bty NCC Shillong for organizing this event in memory of Capt Clifford.
