Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, took over the charge of Chief of Staff at Headquarters Southern Command, Pune from Lieutenant General RJ Noronha, ADC, who superannuated on August 31, 2017.
Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, an alumni of National Defence Academy was commissioned into Bombay Sappers in 1982 and later commanded an Engineer Regiment in Jammu and Kashmir. The General Officer is a graduate of the Staff College, Camberley (United Kingdom) and has attended the Higher Command and National Defence College courses. In his 35 years of distinguished military service, he has tenanted many challenging command and staff appointments. He commanded an Engineer Brigade as part of Strike Corps, an Infantry Brigade along Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and a Mountain Division in the high altitude. His staff tenures include exposure at Brigade, Division and Command Headquarters level. The General Officer as a Lieutenant Colonel was a part of UN mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. He has also tenanted the coveted appointment of Additional Director General in Military Operations Directorate at Army Headquarters. For his illustrious service, he has been conferred with the award of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, the Chief of Army Staff Commendation and twice with General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Commendation.
Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh took over the Command of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) as Commandant in Secunderabad. The General Officer took over the reins of MCEME from Lieutenant General KK Aggarwal, who has proceeded to Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), New Delhi as Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.
Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh is an alumnus of NDA and IMA. An Electronics Engineer, he is a Post Graduate in Radar Technology and M. Tech in 'Management and Systems' from IIT, Delhi. The General Officer has tenanted important staff and regimental appointments. He has been Deputy Military Attache (Tech) in Embassy of India, Moscow, MGEME of Western Command and Commander of Army Base Workshop Group before joining MCEME. For distinguished service of an exceptional order he was decorated with Vishisht Seva Medal.
Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chopra, Vishisht Seva Medal, DGHS (AF) has assumed as Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps on August 29, 2017 taking over the Baton and Banner from Lieutenant General MK Unni, DGAFMS & Senior Colonel Commandant at Office of DGAFMS, New Delhi in the presence of Lieutenant General CS Narayanan, DCIDS (Med), Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chopra was commissioned to Army Medical Corps on March 3, 1980 and held various important appointments during thirty seven years of service. He is a recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal for his exemplary and distinguished Service.
