Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), South Western Command accompanied by Mrs Mareena, Regional President Army Wives Welfare Association, South Western Command visited Strike 1 at Mathura from August 24-25, 2017. The Army Commander was briefed on the operational as well as training and administrative aspects by Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding Strike 1. Formation Commanders and staff of Strike 1 were also present during the briefing. He also visited the 'Heritage Museum' of Strike 1.
The Army Commander commended Strike 1 on its operational readiness and expressed deep appreciation of the measures undertaken to enhance its operational preparedness. He also appreciated the effort undertaken by the formation to improve the quality of life of the soldiers as well as their families.
Mrs Mareena, the Regional President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) interacted with families of Strike 1 and complemented the ladies for ensuring a happy and harmonious family life in the station.
