IAF Skydiving Team 'Akashganga' celebrated its 30th Raising day on August 10, 2017 at Air Force Station Agra. Air Marshal HN Bhagwat VM, Air Officer-in-Charge Administration, IAF the senior most and founder member of the team was the guest of honour to grace the occasion. As a part of the celebration, demonstration jumps were undertaken at Malpura Drop Zone, Agra. The present team leader Wg Cdr KBS Samyal along with present team members and other outstation guests including Air Marshal HN Bhagwat undertook skydive jump and displayed professional skills in the sky.
The red-letter day in the history of Indian parachuting dawned on August 10, 1987 when Indian Air Force proudly launched the first skydiving team of the country 'Akashganga' at Air Force Station Agra. Since then the team has undertaken jumps all over the country and abroad. The team has made various records in the fields of Relative Work (Formation skydive), Canopy Relative Work, BASE Jump and various other fields of skydiving. Its members have also participated in various International Skydiving Championships.
