NCC Gujarat at Beyt Dwarka
Major General Subhash Sharan, Additional DG NCC Gujarat inaugurated and commenced NCC Training on September 8, 2017 at strategically important and far flung remote island of Beyt Dwarka, in Arabian Sea.
Beyt Dwarka Island has also been of great strategic significance from security point of view. Demographic inversion at this remote and strategic island, since last seven decades after Independence has been very noticeable.
100 vacancies (50 each of Army Wing and Navy Wing) of NCC have been allotted to Swami Narayan High School - the only high school on the Island. It is indeed a Red Letter Day in the history of NCC Gujarat. Beyt Dwarka is one of the most revered locations on the planet Earth, since Dwarkadheesh Lord Krishna lived at Beyt Dwarka for 100 years, out of 125 years of his stay on our planet. Beyt Dwarka is non-submerged land mass of holy kingdom of Dwarkadheesh Lord Krishna.
First footprints of NCC on the Island will immensely contribute towards creating a feeling of Nationalism amongst the population, particularly the youth.
NCC Gujarat also plans to undertake an unique 'Beyt Dwarka Expedition' to 42 islands around Beyt Dwarka in Arabian Sea, majority of which are uninhabited.
