Lt Gen AK Sharma, assumed command of the elite White Knight Corps. He was commissioned in 1980 into 2 SIKH a unit which he later commanded on the line of control and during Op Parakram. An alumnus of DSSC Wellington, Army War College and National Defence College, he has also attended Terrorism & Security Studies Course in Germany. He commanded a Mountain Brigade in the North East, an Infantry Brigade Group in UN Mission in Congo and a CIF in J&K.
The General officer has been decorated with YSM, SM and COAS Commendation Card. Before taking charge of White Knight Corps the General officer tenanted the appointment of Director General of Recruiting. On taking over, he exhorted all ranks of White Knight Corps to continue with the same zeal and enthusiasm and always be combat ready.
Air Marshal CK Ranjan has been appointed as Director and Commandant of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, which is his Alma Mater.
Air Marshal CK Ranjan is a graduate of AFMC, Pune. He was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 1980. He has done his MD and DNB in Aviation Medicine and is a graduate from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He has also been awarded a MSc in Defence Studies and M Phil in Hospital & Health System Management.
During his long and distinguished career he has held various prestigious appointments including Professor & Head, Department of Aerospace Medicine at Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Bangalore, Commandant, Air Force Central Medical Establishment, New Delhi, Commandant, Command Hospital Air Force, Bangalore, and  Additional DGAFMS (E&S) in the Office of DGAFMS. He has been awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal in 2015, Vishist Seva Medal in 2008 and AOC in C Commendation Card in 1992 for meritorious service.
