Commanders' Conference at Headquarters Maintenance Command
A three day Commanders' Conference at Maintenance Command was inaugurated by Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chief of the Air Staff at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur on December 5, 2016. The Conference was attended by Station and Unit Commanders of Base Repair Depots, Equipment Depots and other units under Maintenance Command. The progress of various ongoing maintenance activities and Projects at various units under Maintenance Command was reviewed during the Conference.
Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chief of the Air Staff, in his opening address, reiterated on effective utilization of available resources for operational readiness at all times. He emphasized that, Maintenance Command has a major role in maintaining the 'legacy equipment' of Indian Air Force. He appreciated the outstanding professionalism and efforts put in by air warriors in successful achievement of the task assigned. The Air Chief urged all air warriors to keep pace with the rapid upgradation of modern technologies being incorporated by the Indian Air Force. The Chief of Air Staff also presented trophies to the Base Repair Depots and Equipment Depots, who had excelled in respective realm of their core professional competence.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Chief of the Air Staff and Mrs Lily Raha, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) arrived at Nagpur on December 5, 2016, and were received by Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command and his wife Mrs Asha Aneja, President, AFWWA (Regional). An impressive Guard of Honour was also presented to the Air Chief on his arrival.
During the conference, performance reviews of respective branches at Command Headquarters were carried out by Senior functionaries.
Mrs Lily Raha, President, AFWWA addressed a meeting of Sanginis along with Mrs Asha Aneja, President AFWWA (Regional) and AFWWA Presidents of various Units under Maintenance Command. During the visit, she reviewed the progress of welfare schemes and ventures under progress at stations under Maintenance Command. She appreciated the steps taken by the Association at Regional and Local levels for the welfare of their members and advised all the Sanginis to acquire new skills to keep pace with changing environment.
